I had a chance today to try out the new 1930 Census for Oklahoma at the Historical Libray. It's fun and for the most part printed clear and dark, making great copies. Advice on using the census. ONE: It's not INDEXED> Knowing the county helps. But even more than that if you know the Township it's a flash. I found family in Washita and Blaine county with no problems. But then I came to Okalhoma City. Five and a half rolls, by ED Wards, which are indexed by streets bound on the N S E W by such and such street etc. You will really need to know where the person your researching lived. I'm trying to draw out a map of Oklahoma City with the listings by Ward number. It will be a week or so before I get it done and back to the library. In the mean time, the Oklahoma 1930 Census is available at the Historical Library. Have fun. Fred Frederick M.
