Dear fellow CCs, April is Autism Awareness Month and as you may or may not know, our son Max is severely autistic. There are so many people out there that do not know about autism. I know this partially to the silly comments made to me about my son or the nasty comments made on the sly, out loud in public about my son by strangers that do not understand. Max is almost 6 and he does not talk, he is having a very hard time with communication and sometimes I have some very hard days with him. I wont sadden you or bore you with my home-life details but I am emailing this to the list to ask a favor. The favor would be for all of the CCs to please put up something on your websites home page regarding April being Autism Awareness Month. The graphics seem to be plentiful thank goodness for you to use on your websites. I have some links below for those if you want them. I have linked my graphics to autsim.org - for education purposes. You dont have to link the ribbon to anything, just want to get the word out to people. I have made envelope seals even, I put them on bills, anything I mail out. Anyways, I thank you so much for reading this and appreciate the help. Wendy - Maxs mom and your fellow CC.

Hi Marti, I need to give up being the coordinator and archivist for Rogers County. I just don't have enough time to do with it what I'd like to, and there are going to be times in the near future when I'll need to be away from my computer for a week or so at a time. I want to thank you all for having given me the opportunity to do this; it's been some good experience for me. Sincerely, Bryan Mayberry
What is the deal on FTP. I am unable to upload anything to my website. I have been sick and in the hospital so have missed out on what has happened. Tom Marshall CC
I am now using Seagull FTP and it is absolutely free. One of the nice things about it is that it does not allow you to save an item of same name over other item of same name without giving you a warning and asking if that is really what you want to do. I found it fairly easy to learn to use the necessities and think it is a better program than the WS FTP anyway...at least so far. But, I was trying to download WS FTP 5.08 LE and I would have had to register as an education user...no other option was available...so looks like they are already gearing up to stop people using their software free unless they are education folks. sharon --- Vivian Sternenberg <zapot54@juno.com> wrote: > > > WS FTP 5.08 is still free to use. My computer crashed and had to install new hard drive so that means downloading the program again. Can't get it without filling out the education form. But that's okay, Mike who oversees VA Archives and some other states recommended another one that he uses and is free. So I am okay to go as soon as I learn it and download all my files again to my computer. I did not backup files on CD or disk...but will do that this time. Thanks for taking time to answer, Kimberly.
