    1. [OK-IT-L] File searching
    2. Mike Taylor
    3. Stumbled onto this program. Check it out. http://www.iigs.org/newsletter/9802news/altavist.htm I have 1000's of files containing genealogy data that I've collected over the years. I use another program called ISYS, but it is similar to the one Altavista has. Without such a program I could never find any of my old files. Prevents me from having to organize my files - I just drop new files anywhere on my harddisk. This one is free, so I have nothing vested here. There are others on the market. Hope this is not a misuse of the OK/IT maillist. 1. [OK-IT-L] ALL OKGenWeb cc's
    2. Marti Graham
    3. Hi everyone! I've sub'd the last dozen cc's that didn't do it themselves so we should all be on the list. :) The list is now closed and only those sub'd can post messages. We've had several missing and not found coordinators lately. I am really open to suggestions as to how to deal with this problem! I sure hate just disconnecting someone without understanding what's happening in their lives. If a county has an auto query system online, it is not as critical! BUT most of the problem counties do not have an auto query system!! One wouldn't believe how many messages I get about cc's who have not put someone's query online or a county that doesn't have a clear method on how to post a query. If you don't use an auto system, please review your method for posting queries - it should be clearly stated how to post and new queries updated quickly. That said -- everyone send me their addresses and phone numbers -- I do not wish to go through another full month of begging someone to answer their mail or sending mail that continues to bounce. Also, if circumstance are such that you need to give up a county, PLEASE tell me.
