    1. [OK-IT-L] Call for Votes
    2. Marti Graham
    3. HAVE YOU VOTED??? If you haven't voted, please do so. These are important issues and will decide the future of the USGenWeb Project. Please share this with your County Coordinators. Thank you We will be mailing a second Call for Votes starting today. It has come to our attention that there is some confusion about NO votes. NO votes will only be counted in the Bylaws section of the National Coordinator/Bylaws ballot. The NO votes will not be counted in the balloting for State Coordinator Representative, County Coordinator Representative or National Coordinator. vote-owner@usgenweb.org

    3. Hello All, In the second paragraph, I wonder if it should say Adobe (instead of Abode) Acrobat Reader? I have the Haskell Co. newspaper list from the OHS on my Haskell Co site and, as Marti said, it's a very popular feature. I'm off to look at the entire list. Thanks, Marti. 3. I need another ballot for county coordinator rep. When I first filled it out, I voted for two people, as that is what it said at the top. That ballot was rejected, and I voted again, but only voted for one person this time. If we really can vote for more than one, then I would like to redo my ballot. So, who do I write? 2. ETHEL TAYLOR
    3. Hi all, First of all, THIS IS NOT AN EMERGENCY! I need someone in or near Pushmataha County or Clayton, OK (I know, I'm c.c. and should know<grin>) to do a quick check for me. I need an address for Dallas Turner, a fire fighter from Clayton that is/was battling the fires in Florida near Mims, FL about 40 miles east of Orlando. I just received a post from a person in Orlando that would like his address. Monday's paper, the Orlando Sentinel has an almost full page picture of Mr. Turner fighting the fires. This person has searched for an address on the internetand hasn't been able to find one. They thought Mr. Turner's family might like a copy of the paper. She says she doesn't know if he has seen the photo, being so far away...and otherwise occupied... so would like to get the copy to his family. Thanks guys. Can anyone help? Ethel CC Pushmataha County, OK

    3. This morning I got a post from Nancy Trice concerning some apparent name-bashing and mud slinging that has been going on at the USGENWEB-ALL list. I don't subscribe to that list, so I have no idea what she is talking about. Since she specifically mentioned Jerry and Lucy Dill, I am guessing this might have something to do with the brouhaha that went on earlier in the spring with them and USGenWeb. I don't particularly want to participate in any lengthy discussion on this subject nor do I have any desire to be involved in name calling etc., but I would like to be a little bit more informed, especially since I am receiving posts concerning this situation. I haven't heard anything lately on the Dill/USGenWeb situation and have wondered what was going on. Can anyone fill me in? Privately is fine. Thanks, Becky Becky Smith Gallops bgallops@ionet.net

    3. This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------4AF703BA9FADB2D42CBC6B30 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi all - sorry to flood your box, but when the SC closes the CC list to all persons not subscribed then begins to use an alternative email address in her outgoing mailbox - no one gets her messages until she realizes :sigh: why no one is responding. Sorry... Our official OKGenWeb needs to be updated. Anyone graphically talented that would like to submit a new logo? Anyone know someone that would like to create a logo for submission? Anyone have suggestions about how the new logo should look? colors, design, etc. I suggest that submissions be received through Aug 15, then the group, as a whole, vote for their personal favorite with a deadline to vote being Aug 31. Other suggestions? 1. [OK-IT-L] [FWD: [STATE-COORD-L] Voting List Information]

    3. kmfkm@ptw.com wrote: Please share this with your CCs. Thank you.. We will be running a test on the list of USGW members that we will be using for the July Elections for National Coordinator and the Bylaws. We want to make sure that we have everyone on the list, and that everyone's email address is correct. The test will be tomorrow, June 25, 1998. If you do not recieve a message from CAMPAIGN98-L-ANNOUNCE by Friday morning, please contact your State Coordinator, who will contact the Election committee. This list is an "announce" list and does not accept replies. I guess I ought to explain the voting lists that we will be using.. there will be nine (9) lists in all.. 1) The National Coordinator/Bylaws ballot.. everyone will get a will be on this list. 2) The State Coordinators ballots.. there will be four (4) lists, one for each region. 3) The County Coordinator ballots.. there will be four (4) lists, one for each region. I am going to send a "test" mailing on the NC/Bylaws list tomorrow. This will let us know that we have everyone on the list, and that we have good email addresses for everyone. Of course, there are still several people for whom we have NO email address..<grin> we're still working on this, however. We will forward all bounced email to the appropriate SC for action. I'm also going to send an announcement for you to share with your CCs. BTW, the list I will be using is an "announce" list, and does not accept replies. The voting process goes like this. We will be using software called UseVote. We provide a list of voters, and it sends out the ballots.. and receives the completed ballots. At the end of the election period, the vote counting software takes over, and counts the ballots. There are a few things to remember about UseVote.. 1) It will only accept ballots from email addresses that were on the list that it was given.. everyone must vote from the address we have on the list. 2) It will not accept "write-in" ballots. 3) You can vote more than once, but, when the second (and each subsequent) ballot is received, the first (or previous) ballot is invalidated, and the new ballot will be counted. Thank you, Kay Mason Elections Committee The USGenWeb Project
