    1. [OK-IT-L] Midi on our pages
    2. Marti Graham
    3. Hi all - According to the Rootsweb guru -- "Crescendo is the better choice, if you feel the need to have music. It's a client side application - if the surfer doesn't have Crescendo installed they see a broken icon box. No midi should be auto - visitor should have a choice - listen or not." > I had a request to remove the auto-midi 'Red River Valley' from the > page...said it caused her computer to have problems. I removed it, > but have since had several e-mails asking what happened to it...that > they checked back to play it, and it was no longer there. > 'Take Me Back To Tulsa' Ah!! the memories of being young and living in T-town. ;) Anyone know if "Oklahoma" is available on midi? > Make it so someone has to turn it on, it they want to hear > it. It tends to run people out of memory, even if they can't hear > it, at least on some public library machines, which do not allow > music. David has very valid point - we tend to forget everyone doesn't have the biggest, fastest, top of the line. Our visitors are coming from anywhere they can access the internet. M

And my contact for the Cotton County gensoc asked that her e-mail address be removed from the page as she was receiving more questions than she could answer in a timely mannner. I just heard from the treasurer of the Johnston County gensoc who said that her phone number is NOT available. She is a professional genealogist and Native American Specialist and does a lot of traveling, and her husband hates to answer the phone and answer history questions. It does appear that she will let me use her e-mail address, though. David dmorgan@efn.org -- David W. As long as you're updating your counties to link to the new OKGenWeb logo check the following to make sure you have all of these items/links on your pages - they will now be requirements. USGenWeb logo/link OKGenWeb logo/link address/phone of courthouse address/phone of local libraries address/phone of local gensocs check your links to "View Queries" and "Post Queries" If you need help setting up a query system, please ask. Some pages still have links to the old querybot system that has been dead for nearly a year. If you have links to http://www.dsenter.com the forms no longer work. Also, http://www.webtools.org/ is dead and undergoing ownership chg Marti

    3. I have about 50 of those in Volume III on line now. Some in Ark and some in Iowa. I've been working (off and on) on putting the names from that Volume in Access along with the names mentioned in each biography so I can alphebetize the bios. I've never been able to find out whether the entire set is indexed. Any one know? I tried scanning the pages but it didn't work well at all. Took more time to fix the scans that to type the thing to start with. A better OCR program might work however. I've intended to post some of the others to Haskell County page. I have made a list of what counties are identified with each of the bios in Volume III. I've carried that book with me on vacation, to hospital rooms, etc. to work on that list that my book is falling apart. If the genconnect idea works out I'm willing to also post the ones I do there.
