Or you can help someone else with answers from your experience in researching the different Oklahoma county your family lived in. Maybe you know of a link, an address, a repository or county genealogy society etc., which helped you that you can pass on. You might need to go to http://java.com/en/ and right below the big red button that says "Free Java Download" there's a tag that reads "Do I Have Java?". If you click on that tag it will test your computer to make sure you have the latest and greatest version. It's perfectly safe so no worries. [ If you don't have a good office suite of programs you might want to look into Open Office while your hanging out around there. - standard disclaimers apply ] Or if you have an IRC client you can go to irc.rootsweb.com and enter the OKgenWeb chat room. 1. [OK-CSCPA] Hello
    2. Billie Erin Walsh
    3. I have had an interest in the Cherokee Strip Live Stock Association since I heard family stories about how our family once had a ranch the equal of the 101 Ranch of G. W. Miller. Our family range in the CSLSA was most of western modern day Kay County. Up until recently there was a real lack of information about this subject. It seems that just about everyone knew it existed but knew nothing else. Well, lately there has been a lot more information added to the internet. I've been collecting just about everything I can find and have started a web site for those interested in researching the the history of the Cherokee Live Stock Association and the genealogy of it's members. [ That includes the hands on the ranges. ] http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~billie0w/cslsa/index.html I am interested in anything that anyone might like to donate to the site [ full credit given for submissions ]. If you have a genealogy site I would like to link to the members information. If you have a family tree but it's not posted anywhere I can post the members trees onsite. Stories about those that lived there are also needed. Also feel free to correct whatever I have posted. I know that there are mistakes. [ Bennett & Dunham is probably wrong - Milton Bennett's partner was R.L. Dunning not "Dunham" but that's pretty much how it reads on the map and every other source you find. That's why I keep it listed as "Dunham". ] -- Treat all stressful situations like a dog does. If you can't eat it or play with it, just pee on it and walk away Sent with Thunderbird on my Kubuntu Linux Desktop
