I want to find a way to list my maternal mother and her twin sister that where adopted out of an orphanage around 1939. The birth date is July 4, 1934. We can only locate one of them which was Della Lee Clark. We have searched for a Stella Marie Clark, Both women are deceased and I am the oldest daughter to Stella. Greetings, folks. I am a researcher in Colorado trying to find background on a person regarding certain aspects of state history. He apparently served as a Methodist minister in Oklahoma after his military service, but left soon after to form his own church. That's where I'm hoping to pick up a lead on his life because every other path has led to a dead end prior to his coming to Colorado. The 1920 U.S. Federal Census form lists the name as Dodgen or Dodzin when he would have been about 17, but the 1910 version lists him as Dolgin or Dodgin. Same parents: Tom and A. Belle, plus three older siblings, Arthur W., Bertha B and Dorrie May. Claude claimed to have been born in Sulphur Springs (now Sulfur), Oklahoma. He was at least living there around 1920. Records put his birth around 1902. He also claimed to have been part Choctaw, born on the Choctaw Reservation near Sulfur, and to have served in the Signal Corps during World War I. None of which I've been able to prove. I've got a feeler out to the United Methodist Church web site in hopes they can track down the seminary he might have attended, and the parish he served. Also hoping the Choctaw Nation's ancestry office can find something. It's been slow going so any other suggestions will be gratefully welcomed! Charmaine Getz

Try the office of the Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. They keep all of the Journals of the annual conference. These list all of the churches (Methodist) in Oklahoma.
