To Keith Johnston, The Pollock Cemetery is formally known as Dewey Cemetery and is located west of Tryon, Oklahoma. The Lincoln County Historical Society operates the Lincoln County Museum of Pioneer History at 717 Manvel Ave. in Chandler, Oklahoma 74834 (phone 405-258-2425, tell them I told you to call). The Museum has a complete collection of cemetery records for Lincoln County Cemeteries (head stone engravings through 1967) compiled by Mrs. Warren Park during a several-year period in the 1960s. The complete works were published in a several-volume set in 1967-68 and it is on file in the Museum in Chandler. The ladies who work there (Jeanette Haley is the curator) are very, very nice and they will be glad to look up information for you in the Dewey or Pollock Cemetery. Give them a call or drop them a line. I have a lot of information on Lincoln County history, as I have been researching and writing stories about the county since 1966. I edit and publish The New Era newspaper in Davenport (have since 1974) and I also teach at OSU in Stillwater. I would be glad to be of assistance if you need help. You can e-mail me at [email protected] or drop me a line at Box 700, Davenport, Oklahoma 74026, home phone 918-377-4284. Good Luck! Can someone tell me how to get into the index of names for the Pollick Cemetery in Lincoln Co.? The site listing the cemeteries says it is on-line but there is no list of burials. Just two weeks ago, the list was available there. I would appreciate any assistance as I do not live in OK and I need to search there again. Please be aware that the 5 volumes of Lincoln County Cemetery records do NOT contain all the cemeteries in Lincoln County. Several Indian graveyards were not canvassed. Also, the Negro/black cemeteries were not canvassed. Copies of the 5 volumes are also in the Stillwater Public Library and in the OHS Library in Oklahoma City.
