Jim, Diane & List, I live about 40 miles from the cemeteries at Sacred Heart and have visited them. There are actually 4 cemeteries there. One for the monks and one for the nuns on the grounds of the grounds of the old abbey and school. Both of these are very old and no longer used. There are few buildings left of the boarding school that once housed about 500 students. It is mostly ruins. The area is a historical site and closed to the public, other than special occasions or with permission. I was able to get permission to walk through the grounds about a year and a half ago. It is a wonderfully peaceful place. The main cemetery is in front of the current church, which is beautiful. The priest maintains the cemetery and is very helpful. There is another very old Indian cemetery across the road. The gates on it are locked and the priest indicated that they do not want people in there. He also indicated that there were many more graves than markers. It is right next to the road, but I made attempt to look at any of the headstones there. Also, I don't know what tribe or if more than one tribe used it. The area was an Indian community and the school started as a boys Indian boarding school. I get down that way occasionally, but I'm not sure when I will get to again. If you are not in a hurry, send me your information and I will go by the next time I am in the area. Have a good day, Jean
