Dear List Members, I have received so many offers of cemetery inventories taken from Films located at one of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Family History Centers that I felt I needed to find out if they were copyrighted. I received the following message and thought each of you should read it. (located at bottom of message) It says in short. We cannot copy a cemetery index or inventory from a film and then publish it on a website unless we have permission from the person who gave them permission to film the inventory. Therefore, if you send us one, we cannot use it. If you inventory the cemetery yourself, it can be used or if you send us a letter of permission from the person who inventoried the cemetery along with the inventory it can be used can be used. Thank you for helping us to do what is right regarding the copyright laws.
