    3. Jeri, I believe that the reference to "iron stob" was an allusion to the markers used in the geological survey and mapping of areas. Therefore, there would be many "iron stobs" throughout the state, but in a small area, one might refer to the "cemetery by the iron stob." Don't take my word for this. It is only what I believe.
