This site lists immigrant records from Ellis Island from the late 1800's through the 1930's. It's a brand new site and it is extremely busy, you might not get in, but keep trying. Toward the bottom of the introduction page you will see the word "continue" that looks like a link, click on that and if you're among the fortunate ones you'll get in. I don't know if this site is fee based or not.
