I have a copy of a certificate The Idabel Mutual Burial Association. Purchased by my g-grandfather in 1929. Is this burial insurace? Does anyone know? My experience with burial certificates is that they are somewhat like burial deeds. It may have been a precurser to the "Perpetual Care" certificates one can get these days from rural cemetery associations- your "guarantee" that by paying the appropriate fees the grave will be cared for (mowing, etc).
