I have been told that my husband's great grandfather, Isaac S. Bailey is buried in the new Melette Cemetery in McIntosh County, Oklahoma. When we went last summer to visit Oklahoma, we found the cemetery, but he had no headstone. We found other BAILEY who were related to this line who had headstones. There was no main office to ask questions, but how can I verify that he and possibly his first wife Deliliah Manard Bailey are buried there? I tried to find his death certificate in Oklahoma City, but they didn't show it on file for that county. He died March 20, 1924. He was born Sept. 4, 1848 in Tennessee. I searched in the Eufaula, Oklahoma library where funeral home records were stored but couldn't find him. Back in 1924 could he have died in a neighboring county and been transported and buried in McIntosh County? Was this normal? Delilah and Isaac divorced and she lived supposedly until she was 101 years old. Isaac remarried Katherine �Katy� Bartlett and she is supposedly buried in Dick Duck Cemetary At Catossa, Oklahoma, Rodgers County. I've been trying to find proof, but no luck so far.
