Folks, If you copy photos to a floppy, Walmart can make you a hard copy of the photos from it. Cost depends on the size you want made. Debra Garner dougg@hsnp.com
Evelynne, count me in, too. I have some old ones I bought at a storage auction years ago, which were apparently taken in the midwest in the early 1900s. Would love to return these to descendants. Penny
If you want to copy almost anything that is online, and are using Microsoft Windows, all you have to do is right click on the photo, etc. A window will pop up, asking where you want to save it. I save mine to whatever folder I want for that subject, but you can save it to your hard drive or a floppy disk. I tried on this website, and you can do it there. Penny
> Looks like you must pay for the photos on that site- > Not a good thing, except for them. Sorry I didn't see that part. But you would have to least expect to pay something when having someone send you a photo. Can't expect the money to come out of there pocket. Leona
Looks like you must pay for the photos on that site- Not a good thing, except for them. - Linda- -----------------
There is a website like that already. http://www.adoptaphoto.com/ Maybe you could work together. Leona

Evelynne I think that would be a wonderful idea.Because my Mom's trunks was stole by her sister-in-law after my Mom's death and sure would love to find the stuff she had in those trunks. Now sister-in -law is dead and of course rest of the family had ni idea she had done that>right give me a break. If only people could just tell the truth no matter what.I think more of people who tell me the truth no matter how much it hurts as though who stand and look you in the face and lie.My 2 cents worth. Here is an idea that a member of another group has passed on to me after I uncovered some old photos in an antique shop. How amny of us going into a thrift store, antique shop, flea market, etc find old photos in albumns or loose? OK so they're not of Aunt Alice, or Grandpa, or whomever you may be related to, but they were or are someones family members. I am working on putting together a website with the other groups member which will have nothing but "orphan" photos. We will put what ever details we have where we found it, when, the subject matter and any other details we can provide. Ok gang this is where everyone else will become involved. Once the site is up and running, hopefully by mid-September or earlier, I will be asking everyone to keep an eye out for any and all "orphan" photos you can find and send them to the site. Eventually we will make the site an attachment to other sites such as FAG and Ancestry so that ore people will be able to become involved. What do you think? Good idea or no. Evelynne
To one and all on the group, I have received 7 requests for copies of either one or all of the photos. There is another one that I did not mention as it is in such poor shape (extremely faded) I "saved" it because I could not bare to have it tossed away when it could no longer be seen. I found these in an antique shop in Guthrie and there were a few more there, but I did not have the money at the time to buy them all. I plan on checking other shops in the area and see what I can obtain. Anyone else out there, check your local shops and see what you can find. There are thousands of missing family photos in these shops and they need to be returned to their family members. Evelynne
I recently acquired six photos of early Oklahom and am needing help in identifying them as well as the people in the pctures. Only one is a "copy" and shows the "Logan County High School, Guthri, OK 1904". The building resembles the present Logan County Court House (possibly the same architect built both), but there is no way of determing "where" in Guthie the HS was located. The other photos are as follows: - Post card photo taken of (a) WWI soldier in uniform, Writing on the back has (pre-printed) 'Carte Postal', (stamped within an oval) MICH?? Photograph 25, Cours Berriat Grenoble. Then handwritten - Mrs. Mary E. Blais From Earl March 30 1919; - Youth standing on a wicker chair, age about 3-4 years. Handwritten in upper left hand corner is the name "GOOTY", possibly taken about 1904-05 B.F Est??ll Photo; - Infant in (possibly) Christining gown, about 6 months. Infant is sitting on what appears to be a tapestry. Name on reverse is RUSSELL WILSON. **Note** This may be a 'death' photo that was taken of the baby as there does not appear to be any "life" in the eyes. Merytle(?) Photo, Crescent, OK; - Rather large photo of a "Fife & Drum" group. Young boys and men, ages from about 6 - early 20's. Photo taken early 1900's or very late 1890's. No photographer stamp, photo is an original, but no names are printed or written on the back, and there is no placquard telling us what group or where they were from. I will gladly send an attachment of any or all of the photos to anyone who may be interested in these pictures and with the exception of the Logan County HS photo I would like to see these pictures returned to family members. We have just made a couple of days researching the cemeteries in Major and Grant Counties, a couple in Garfield. Would you like for me to do some lists, section, township and range numbers, have pictures of some. Have the family names, but did not take down all the births and deaths. I didn't know if you would be interested in these or not. Example: on July 30, 02 we went to Ames (which you have covered pretty well), Concord, New Hope, Union, Free Home, Glenwood cemeteries in Major, Del Norte in Garfield county, and Luthern Trinity; also have Grant County list of entire County received from the courthouse and the Bohemian National Cemetery (Czecho Slovak) and pictures, St. Mary Catholic cemetery, Medford Cemetery (Rosemound) plus some others. I do have a request - does anyone know anything about Greenwood Cemetery in the NW/4 of S23-T25N-R5W? We missed it because it wasn't on the map and is a location that my husband thinks he remembers from when he was 7 or 8 - we are looking for his grandfather, David Lewis and so far have not had real good luck. Please advise what form you would like this information in..I do not have a web site - do have a scanner and can attach to email OR - I would make a packet and mail to you. I regret to admit that I made a mistake and forgot to add Linda Simpson and Donna Dreyer to the updated Family Group Sheet Website announcement I just sent out. They spend their valuable time helping by correcting and uploading your family groups sheets is it is unforgivable that I left them off of the signature line. Kathleen Burnett
