If someone lives near the Waukoomis Cemetery, would you mind looking up a couple of headstones for me? I was there a year ago September, and while looking for some relatives of my husband, we happened to come upon the name of SHAKLEE. Since the Shaklee manufacturing plant is in Norman, OK, I was curious if there might be a connection to the names on the stones. The problem is I don't remember the first names of the individuals on the stones. You don't have t take a picture, just provide me names and dates. I'm interested in this because I'm a Shaklee distributor and I also do geneaology work as well. The names we were originally looking for in the cemetery is FRANKE. We found two markersbut they weren't the names we were looking for. We founnd out later that these people are related to the ones we were looking for. It turns out that the name we were looking for: FRITZ FRANKE, is buried in Del Norte Cemetery. My husband and I plan on going to that cemetery the next time we're in Oklahoma. Thanks for any help. When I canvassed Sacred Heart a year or so ago, I could find no TATE tombstones. I'm sorry to say that I do not know who the caretaker and sextant is/are. If you know the funeral home that buried him, you could get a lot of information from them. Below are some of the cemeteries in the area. Pottawatomie County · Cooper Funeral Home, 210 W Walnut St, Tecumseh, OK 74873 -- (405) 598-2124 -- Fax: (405) 598-6682 -- Toll Free: (800) 905-2124 · Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel, 119 N Union St, Shawnee, OK 74801 -- (405) 275-0371 -- Fax: (405) 275-0370 · Resthaven Funeral Home, 5001 E Highland Dr, Shawnee, OK 74801 -- (405) 275-2200 -- Fax: (405) 275-2207 · Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel, 400 N Broadway St, Shawnee, OK 74801 -- (405) 273-4700 -- Fax: (405) 273-4953 · Knight Funeral Home, PO Box 219, 102 W Monroe, Maud, OK 74854 -- (405) 374-2424 -- Fax: (405) 374-2730 You could also try the Pottawatomie County Genealogy Club, P.O. Box 3526, Shawnee, OK 74802. They charge $7.50 per hour of research plus 25 cents per page that they copy and mail to you. They have Census, Marriage Records, City Directories, etc. and can copy obituaries from the Shawnee newspaper. The genealogy club has no phone number but you might find their web-site interesting: http://www27.brinkster.com/pcgc/index.html Jim ----- Original Message ----- From: "David & Linda Elston" <elstondl@mcloudteleco.com> To: <OK-CEMETERIES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 16, 2002 7:33 AM Subject: [OK-CEM] Sacred Heart. > Rebecca, I"m not sure when I'll run down to Sacred Heart, hopefully > within the next month, but I'll be glad to check for Tate for you. > Linda > > ______________________________

Rebecca, do you happen to be related to Frank and Lee Etta Tate of Houston (Harris County) Texas . . . back in the forties and up until about the eighties? They were my parent's best friends when they lived there! Just curious. They had children, Frank, Jr. and Shirley. Susan <><
