Mahlon~ Would it be possible for you to check for a couple of obituaries for me in the Perry, Noble, Oklahoma newspapers circa 1906 to 1907? I would be willing to reimburse you for gas, copies and postage. If you can't, that's fine. I'm not having much luck finding a volunteer for that area, so I thought I'd check with you since it sounds like you're local to there. Please let me know. Thanks, and take care! Does anyone do lookups in Jackson Co OK? I have heard that my gggrandfather died around 1945 or so in Blair which is in Jackson Co OK. But I have not verified this. How difficult would it be to find out where he was buried? If not a lookup, does anyone have any advice on how I might go about this? His wife Fannie is buried somewhere there as well. Not sure if in same cemetery. Any help or advice greatly appreciated. Kim Stanifer --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now

Pam, the Luther information was really a big help. We had a little of the information, but you had much more that we didn't have. Thanks so very much. Bud IN GOD WE TRUST
Go to the main site for OK Cemeteries and use the search engine at the bottom of the page: http://www.rootsweb.com/~okcemete/okcem.htm That will tell you what cemeteries have Kershners buried there. There will be a list of links for to check out your names. Lois in Auburn, CA
Actually - Deese would be WEST of I-35 & NORTH of Hwy 70/Hwy 199. Sorry. I'm terrible with maps.
Does anyone know of any cemeteries that may be in the old Stobtown area (north of Lone Grove)? I have been to the Newport Cemetery & didnt find what I was looking for. Also if someone were living in the old "Deese" area (East of I-35 & south of Highway 70/199) in the 1920's, would there be some cemeteries in that area? How about the Jackson Cemetery aka Hickory Cemetery in carter county. I have the range/township info but that doesnt really help. would like more specific info. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP!

I see on the LDS > FamilySearch.com > there are many Nave and Cuculate families that go way back to early 1800's > in > Indian Territory. > Bud > IN GOD WE TRUST Bud! My Grandmother changed her last name to Chuculate. I found Louis E Nave Roll number 25337 listed as 1 year old 3-8 cherokee. Listed on the census card with him is Thomas Nave 25 years old listed as 3-4 Cherokee. I am assuming that is his father. Also listed is Leon S Name age 3 female. and Ruby M Name age 1. Gussie Chuculate roll number 32950AC (ac means Act of congress) 11 years old listed ad full blood. You can get copies of the applications. Email me privatley and I will send you info on how to get them at a reasonable cost. Rebecca
Oh, Pam, this is absolutely great. Nellie Moore Luther was a sister to my wife's grandmother Mary Dulcina 'Molly' Moore, Reader, Webber, Moore. If I'm not mistaken, Molly is also buried at Ripley. I'll have to give this to my wife and see what she can tell me. I know she has a fairly good history of the Moore family, but I don't think much of anything on the Luthers. And I don't think she knew her great grandpa Moore's middle name was Austin. Will keep the letter active until I can see what she has. Thanks bunches. BTW, the big angel tombstone with the hands broken off is for the Ballard family. That is my wife's grandparents on her mother's side of the family. Many people there are related to my wife. That name is not in either of those cemeteries. I looked the name up in the Payne County Genealogy website, but did not find it. The closest that I could find was SATTERFIELD. However, there are many small cemeteries in this area and the surrounding counties that are not available online yet. You may want to try a search for your surnames in either: Gene Stark's Index of Names for all Gen Web Sites OR USGenWeb Archives Search Page and search OK Good Luck, Pam
