    1. Grovers

    3. Hi everyone! My line of Grovers are from Wood County, for sure; I have documentation on them. They are (starting with my great-grandfather) John Grover (1865-1948), son of George M. Grover (1837-1891), son of Aaron Grover (1801-1873). Aaron was born in New York somewhere, then came to Delaware County, Ohio, then to Wood County. We can't seem to find his parents. However, my bigger mystery is his "other" relatives. There are a couple of lines of Grovers in Wood County (and even some in Sandusky and Ottawa Counties) and we can't seem to get them tied together although there are many teasing clues that there is a relationship. The other two main lines I am refering to are Hezekiah Grover (1810-1868) and Cyrus Grover (1818-1863). Some of the main clues that there is a relationship are: George, Cyrus, and Hezekiah all three owned adjoining farms on Hilt Road in Center Township. I don't have those land records yet. Could they have information that may help link these families? Most all of these three families of Grovers are buried in Union Hill Cemetery. I've been there and seen where they are in relation to each other. Aaron is directly next to a baby grandson of Cyrus's, then a stranger, then Cyrus (alone). Most all of their descendents (at least the sons) are buried there also. Hezekiah's grandson, Irwin K. (1860-1935) and Aaron's grandson, John S. (1865-1948) both married McIntosh sisters who were living in Kansas and brought them back to Wood County. There are other, smaller clues also. I really don't want to try to fit the facts to "my theory" so I am trying really hard to prove otherwise but I feel that at least Aaron, Cyrus, and Hezekiah are brothers or first cousins. Their sons and grandsons are intertwined so much. Like I said, there are other families that touch on these three but these are the ones that seem most closely connected. If anyone has any information or clues as to where I can go from here to prove or disprove relationships, please let me know. I think if we could find all three of their parents, we would have our answers! Thank you ever so much! Vicki Ashton
