Dorris, Most of what I have learned on John JOHNSON/ JOHNSTON (besides censuses and some burial records) is this little paragraph from 1875 Hardesty history "JOHN JOHNSON was the fourth son of John and Elizabeth Johnson; was born in Richland County, Ohio, in 1824, and removed with his parents into Wood County in 1837. His father's family consisted of nine children- Thomas, Jane, Fanny, Cynthia, James, William, John, Robert and Cyrus. John was married to Matilda, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Eberly, February 21, 1855. Mrs. Johnson was born in Portage township in 1835. Mr Johnson has threee children- Jessie L., Albert G. and Claud L.- living, and two Delias and Bell- deceased. Mr. Johnson has held the offices of township trustee and clerk." Barb
