Hi Nancy - Just so happens that I was "loaned" a copy by a very generous person last week. There are 7 Dr. Smith's listed in the index of the "Doctors" publication. They are listed on 23 pages. Do have have any initial that could pin it down a little. I see a "Catfish", John W., Jonathan Mackie, Peter, Stewart J., and Dr. W. and just plain Dr. Any of these look like yours. None of them show in the index as Bowling Green doctors specficially. If you can't I will take a look at it and see what it looks like. Hi Gene, Thanks for looking at the "Doctors on Horseback" publication! Of the choices for Dr. Smith, I think this handwriting could be an abbreviation for John or Jonathan, Could be: Capital J, small "a" and a loop with 2 marks underneath. Thanks for anything you can find! Searching for "Bowling Green and Doctors" online, found mention of the old "Village Cemetery" on Ridge Street, now the site of Ridge Elementary School. The children were finding bones, which may not have been transferred to the Oak Grove Cemetery! Yipes!
