    3. Hi folks, Does anyone recognize the current land holding here described in 1866? On the Liberty Township map, it looks like the MERMILL area at the border of PORTAGE Twp, near the North Branch of Portage River. *** Transcribing firstly the easiest to read of the ELDER Land Transactions that Donna Wolf copied in Bowling Green: JOSIAH M. ELDER To JOSEPH ELDER --April 12, 1866 LAND SALE Bowling Green, Wood County, Ohio, Recorder of Deeds, vol. 28, p. 315. ELDER of Wood County Ohio in consideration of the sum of Thirty Dollars to me paid by JOSEPH ELDER of Wood County Ohio do hereby bargain sell and quit claim to the said JOSEPH ELDER his heirs and assigns forever the following Real Estate viz: The undivided one fifth of ten acres of land lying in the North half of the South East quarter of Section No. thirteen (13) town four (4) North of Range ten (10) and bounded as follows to wit commencing at the South East corner of a piece of land which Adam ROSS has heretofore deeded to James Reed and running west along said Reed's line Eighty rods thence South twenty rods (2) thence East to the Findlay road Eighty rods (80) and thence North twenty rods (20) along said road to the place of beginning. It being the same tract of land which was on the 9th day of January 1845 deeded by Adam Ross to Josiah Miller. Together with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging. To have and to hold the same to said grantee his heirs and assigns forever hereby covenanting that the title so conveyed is clear free and unincumbered by any act of the grantor herein. In witness whereof the said grantor hereunto set his hand and seal this 12th day of April A.D. 1866. JOSIAH M. ELDER Signed sealed and delivered in presence of Robt. McMahan, Emily A. McMahan. The State of Ohio, Wood County. Before me Robt. McMahan a Justice of the Peace in and for said county personally came JOSIAH M. ELDER the grantor in the above conveyance and acknowledge the same to be therein his voluntary act and deed. This 12th day of April 1866.
