Hi folks, A TROMBLEY cousin just found the name of my ggg-grandfather, JOSEPH ELDER, in the Bulkley "History of Monroe Co MI", as a Scotsman from PA, so now I'm looking for a JOSEPH ELDER, father of JOHN ELDER, b. 1805. John moved to Wood Co OH about 1830. Found this list of children for JOSEPH ELDER and Mary "Polly" Walker, of Franklin Co PA, married about 1800. Ordered the microfilm #1553651 from LDS in case I can learn anything else from that. Children listed: 1. Robert b. abt 1801 Of, Fannett Twp, Franklin PA 2. Mary, b. abt 1803 " 3. John, b. abt 1805 " 4. Martha, b. abt 1807 " 5. Samuel, b. abt 1809 " 6. Alexander, b. abt 1811 " 7. Joseph, b. abt 1813 " 8. Elizabeth, b. abt 1815 " There are Alexander and Samuel ELDER, as well as Elizabeth Elder in Ft. Meigs Cemetery, so some could be related. Lots of interesting Rev War guys in PA to connect in that group, too, including the Rev. John ELDER, of Paxtang, who kept his rifle in the church, and led the Presbyterians out to the alarms!
