Hi folks, Thanks for the lookup of Julius ROE, by Cheryl Roe (no relation that she knows of). Mary Ann ELDER and Julius ROE were married in Wood Co OH in 1854. They are found in the Summerfield, Monroe Co MI Census of 1860, where Julius is 27 years old and listed as born in MI. I'm still trying to find the parents of Julius ROE. Relatives in Ogemaw Co MI are now trying to find the original death certificate at the courthouse, using the death date of April 2, 1913, so we can look at the signature of the person who wrote "born in France." Maybe they just knew of French-Canadian relatives in Michigan? From LDS records of Ogenaw County, Michigan, Cheryl found: Julius Roe died April 2, 1913. He was 79y 10m 28d old. He lived in Goodar. He died of old age. He was "born in France." He was a farmer. His parents were unknown. Mary Ann [ELDER] Roe died August 12, 1912. She lived in Goodar. She was 78y 11m 10d old. .. She was born in Ohio. She was a housewife. Her father's name was John Elder. No mother's name was given [Mary MOREHOUSE].
