I am looking for someone who can lookup an obituary for Ruth Christie b. 1894 and died May 1983 in Perrysburg. Social security number from SSDI: 269-24-5487. I am interested in any other information that might link her to my family. If this is the correct person her father was William E. Lunsford/Luntsford and her mother was Mary J. (Brown). She would have been born in South Dakota. Thank you in advance for your help as this may be a vital key in furthering my research on the lost members of the family. Wanda Luntsford Smith

I have a news article from the Toledo Blade that tells the outcome of a trial in Lucas County over a shooting incident. The article does not include the date! Other articles on the same copied page say January 30, but no year. The headline says "Thomas Schooner Found Not Guilty of Shooting A. Artis" and also includes the names Judge Chittenden and Attorney J. E. Ladd. Thomas Schooner is listed as being from Bowling Green is why I am posting to this Wood County board. My copy is not a good copy and I want to be able to get another and see if perhaps there are more articles or information concerning this shooting. But without a year to go on, I don't know where to start. I believe it may have been in the late 1800s or early 1900s but really can't even be sure of that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Vicki
Hi Tonya I looked through our index of tombstone readings in Wood County and find no Janet Bridenstine. I also looked for a death record from the Probate Court record of Deaths in Wood County from 1927 through 1957. I also found no Janet Bridenstine. There is only a death record of a Mary Bridenstine in 1949, with location of burial not recorded. I also looked through the obits in the Wood County Public Library. I find no obit for Janet Bridenstine. Sorry I could not be of more better help. Tonya, I do not know if anyone else has responded, but I have checked the following township cemetery books without success. These are: Washington; Plain & Montgomery townships, plus Oak Lawn in Bowling Green. Of course there are several other township cemetery books which I do not have at home. I suggest if you arrive in Bowling Green before noon to visit the Wood County Genealogical Society (WCOGS) Office in the Wood County Court House complex. It is on the first floor of the office building behind the main building. There is a sign over the door which you enter. Otherwise, or in addition to visiting WCOGS, go to the public library on the corner of N. Main St. and West Court Street (Parking behind). The local history department is on the second floor and has a complete set of the township cemetery books published by WCOGS. There is a possibility there was not a stone place for little Janet and the first books published did not have information from the sextons on the unmarked graves. The later publications are more complete. The death records for 1940 would be in the Wood County Health Department on East Gypsy Lane Road. Good luck and let us know if you have any success. Osido, This is a multiple posting by me for all lists that I am Admin for -- some of you WILL get duplicates, please accept apologies for this as well as sending out another warning notice. I have received notice from three friends concerning the following, thus I feel it has merit. Even if it is false, it is something I have been expecting for sometime. In other words, the advice given here is good at any rate. :) Spammers and Virus Hackers are becoming more sophisticated. The latest in spamming is to gain access [subscribe] to lists; then falsify the address of someone [Admins are good targets] and request subscribbers/members to send in their name and e-mail addresses. The next thing the admin notices is that person disappears from the list, however the list members get spammed in their e-mail addys boxes. If I need your name I certainly will ask you privately. In addition you can check the validity of my request by asking [ListName]-Admin@rootsweb.com, where [ListName; i.e. NEBRRoost-L/D] is the name of the list you are subbed to. Thus, DO NOT send you name and address to someone who simply asks for it. Know whom you send your information to. If folks do not identify themselves, or the information they supply is suspect, DO NOT send your personal information. There is no need to jam the List with any reply; however, you are welcome to comment privately. If anything seems to warrant telling the entire list, I will do so. Thank you all for your great behavior on these lists. Everyone appreciates it. Special note to NEBRRoots-L and NEBRHeritage-L members: Connie Snyder often steps in as Admin for me when I am unavailable. Notes from her carry the same weight as my own. Wado, Bill --
Does anyone have the March 1992 issue of the Wood County Chapter OGS Newsletter they'd like to sell to me for a couple dollars? According to PERSI, there is an article in this issue that I'd like to have about the Harley Braden Bible 1869-1940. Harley Braden could be the daughter of my ancestor George W Braden (1832-1902). There is a biographical sketch of him in The History of Morrow County Ohio at this link http://heritagepursuit.com/MorCana.htm' Jim Braden
Dear Listers My name is EDWARD FELSTEAD. I live in WEST LANCASHIRE in the NORTH WEST of ENGLAND. I am researching my FELSTEAD family tree and have discovered that my G-G-Grandfather was born in America circa 1840. In searching for him I have come across the following entries in the 1880 census of the United States. CUSTER,WOOD COUNTY,OHIO GEORGE FELSTEAD age 26 (b 1854) born OHIO - Parents born ENGLAND MAGGIE FELSTEAD age 23 (b 1857) born OHIO - Parents born OHIO THOMAS FELSTEAD age 22 (b 1858) born OHIO - Parents born ENGLAND ADLINE FELSTEAD age 21 (b 1859) born OHIO - Parents born OHIO CLYDE C FELSTEAD age 9mths born OHIO - Parents born OHIO PHILADELPHIA,PHILADELPHIA,PENNSYLVANIA JOHN FELSTEAD age 39 (b 1842) born ENGLAND - Parents born ENGLAND MARY FELSTEAD age 34 (b1846) born ENGLAND - Parents born ENGLAND WILLIAM FELSTEAD age 3 (b 1877) born PENNSYLVANIA - parents born ENGLAND JOHN FELSTEAD age 2mths born PENNSYLVANIA - parents born ENGLAND My G-G-Grandfather was called WILLIAM FELSTEAD and he was born AMERICA circa 1840 He returned to England circa 1860 where he married. I believe that after staying in England for about 10yrs he returned to the United States. His principal employment in England was as a TINPLATE Worker. There is some family folk lore that there is a connection with Pennsylvania. I would be most grateful for look ups for FELSTEAD's for years as far back as 1841 so that I can ascertain if it is possible that WILLIAM was born in the Ohio Valley. Thank you Best Wishes from the UK Edward Felstead

Good Evening Listers, I/we are trying to pinpoint a business location in pre-1910 Bowling Green. It is the New York UMBRELLA HOSPITAL, F. J. Shavelia, Proprietor. We know it was located above the PostOffice, however, we need to also know where the PostOffice was in Pre-1910 Bowling Green. TIA. Bill --
