Dusti, The BGSU Archives have added some new evening hours to replace the Sunday afternoon hours, which have not been utilized enough to keep it open. They will now be open Monday and Tuesday until 8:00 PM (open at 8:30 AM) during the normal school schedule. This is in addition to their normal hours of 8AM-4:30 PM. It is probably best to check with the archives during school vacations for their adjusted schedule. The phone number is (419) 372-2411. As for the county offices, I am afraid they are only open during normal working hours of 8:30-4:30 M-F and usually close for any federal holiday (ei: Columbus Day Oct 9; Veterans Day Nov 11-on a Sat. this year, etc.) The Wood County Genealogical Society Workroom usually follows the schedule of the court house, since we are located in the addition. There is a possibility we could be open on weekends if someone would like to volunteer one or two Saturdays a month in the office. If someone out there would consider it, please let us know and we will train you to be in the workroom. Listed in the Wood Co. 1870 census living with the Samuel Odell family is: Sarah Corin 12 born in Oh. Listed in the same census living with the Cyrus Odell family (Samuel's son) is Cynthe Coin age 7 b. in Oh. Does anyone know these girls? Gene, or anyone else that knows. I'm looking for a divorce record, probably in Wood Co. for Hiram Odell and Susan Lindley Odell before 1898. How do I find this without an exact date? (They were m. in Wood Co. 17 March 1872) I know Hiram died in 1907 in Wood Co., and probate death records show he was widowed, but I also know his wife remarried in 1898 in Seneca Co. and didn't die until 1940. Marcia, there are three Shanks buried in the West Millgrove Cemetery. they are Samuel L. born 1851 d. March 22, 1939, Sophia F. b. 1854 d. Sept. 1938 and Cora M. b. 1873 d. 1892 There is also a death in the probate records for a Frank Johnson d. 25 Dec. 1872 age, 3 months and 19 days in Wood Co., Middleton Twp. Were you asking about a Perry Johnson also? There is a P.V. Johnson in the probate death records for 9 Feb. 1877 single at 22 years 01 months and 14 days in Henry Twp. Hi Marcia Well, I truly do not know for sure what to think. My grandfather was b: circa 1872/73/74 in Hickory County, MO. My grandmother was b: in circa 1877/78 in OH. Somewhere they met, and somewhere they married. The reason I asked about your Frankie is because I had hoped that my Uncle Frank was named after someone in the family. You have a John W. Is that William? If so my grandfather could have been named for him. It would be possible that your Lucy could be a Aunt to my grandfather. I am keeping all of this record just in case.
