    1. [OHWAYNE] Emanuel Mater/Mateer/Matter - 1830
    2. Arthur Laube
    3. Bob and Joy - your messages combined to give an excellent documented account of a Emanuel Matter, born 1847 in Paint Township - died 1943, his two wives and several children. I will put this family together in a Family Tree Format and post it on this list. Emanuel's parents remain shrouded in mystery. I believe his father was Emanuel Mateer, born 1830 in PA., who in 1850 was in Eagle Boarding House, Wooster. Bob, in the 1880 census is Emanuel Mater/Mateer/Matter, age 50, born PA, not to be found? He may be dead. I will try to find him in 1860 and 1870. If his father is dead or missing, the son might have no way of knowing where his father was born. I thank you again - and best regards Hal
