    1. [OHWAYNE] county courthouse address
    2. foxit
    3. Hello List! Being new to this list, I would like to ask a very basic question: Does anyone have the current address for the Wayne County Courthouse? I have two publications that list two different addresses for the same courthouse. My purpose is to get a copy of the probate record for one "Rees Davis", died 1819 in Wayne County. 1. [OHWAYNE] Obituaries
    2. gdwhinry
    3. For anyone interested, the "Los Angeles Times" has a web site for obituaries for the prior week only: http://www.latimes.com/obits The obituaries would not only be of interest to searchers with Los Angeles links but for other areas as well. For example: May 24 obituaries listed Ed Weaver an Ohio State Athletic Director of note who died in California; Dr. Frank Slaughter, born in Washington DC and died in Florida, who as well as being a physician wrote very popular novels; Lorez Alexandria a jazz singer, from Chicago. Of course, these are in addition to Los Angeles locals who passed away that week. Hope this is helpful to some of you. Donna California

State officials are anxious to find any descendants of the Holloway family who are bured in the cemetery. If the heirs can't be found, the state will have to get court permission to move the nine graves in the plot, in order to finish a new Missouri 150. Construction workers recently unearthed a marble headstone, dating from 1858, while moving a large section of water pipe. Archaeologists later found another headstone and evidence of seven other graves. The site has not been disturbed further. -------- Please pass this on to other lists. An area on the site is available to furnish additions and corrections of information. Scanned images, circa 1900 and later, are available at familytrees.systime.com/webner/imgidx.html. 2. Neil Webner
    3. Looking for info on Catherine Webner, included in the listing of the 1910 Smithville census by the Smithville Community Historical Society. Catherine was born in 1835, mostly likely in Cumberland, Dauphin or Lancaster Co., PA. She married a Kesses or Hesses. She is shown in the 1910 census on Milton Street, most likely at a residence of Helen Webner Davidson who is not listed on the census. Curiously, she is listed with her maiden name. I could not find a record of her death. If anyone has any research ideas to determine names of her husband and children and her death date, please let me know. Neil Webner

    1. [OHWAYNE] Family of Joseph and Elizabeth Douglas Campbell
    2. Alan B. Campbell
    3. Dear Campbell researchers, Can anyone relate to any of the following family members? John S. Campbell is my pggrandfather. We know a great deal about his descendants but little about his eight siblings. His father, Joseph Campbell emigrated from Scotland in the 1700's with his parents (names unknown). They settled in "Georgetown" in western Virginia. Joseph's brother, William, married an ELLISON and Joseph married ELIZABETH DOUGLAS. Not long after 1800 we believe JOSEPH and ELIZABETH CAMPBELL moved to Wayne Co.Ohio where they raised a family of nine children. Son, John S. Campbell farmed in Wayne Co. for more than 40 years. We have birth and descendant information on only two. (John S. & Joseph A Here are their names: 1. James, 2 .John S. (born 24 Sep 1799), 3.William, 4.Samuel, 5.Robert, 6.Betsy, 7.Polly, 8.Nancy, (married a TENTSLER), and 9.Joseph (born 4 Sep 1825) If you have any information about this CAMPBELL family in Virginia or Ohio we would like to exchange information. Thank you. ALAN CAMPBELL

    3. I apologize for the test, but I have not received RootsWeb messages for the last couple days. The administrator of one of our family RootsWeb surname lists says that I'm still subscribed to that list, but I am not receiving messages that have been posted to that list. He has been sending them to me via his own e-mail address. He also said that my own posts have been making it to the list, but I am not receiving them or the messages that others have posted. If the list administrator of this list could let me know if I am still subscribed, I'd be grateful. 1. [OHWAYNE] Sarah Walter
    2. Susie Holderfield
    3. Does anyone know about the John Walter who lived in Wooster Township in the 1850s? His daughter Sarah married DRIESBACH (DREISBACH), an animal trainer of some fame. I found information about his family on the net but they don't list anything about her. I don't think she is in the Walter book....am I wrong? Seems to me that there is a John Walter who moved up to Wayne OH from VA. Haven't done any real research on it yet. Just thought I might ask you first. I have the info in Historical Collections of Ohio by Howe. They married in 1854. Susie
