The 1870 census of Washington Co. shows George Dearth 34 and wife Martha. His Mother Eliza J. age 61 is in the household. Is anyone researching this family? I think my Rachel Dearth may be the sister of George. In 1880 the census shows Eliza J. as a grandmother in the home of John Davies. He is the son of Rachel Dearth Davies. I am thinking this Eliza may be Eliza Jane Hupp? Thank you for reading this posting. Judy Bowman

Hi Judy, I'm not researching this family. I took a look in the History of Washington County, Ohio, 1778-1881, and found this. I hope it's of some use. (Liberty Township) p707 - "Hiram Dearth was among the more recent settlers of the county, having removed here in 1869. He was born in 1828 in Monroe county, Ohio. He married Hester J. Kasey, born in 1830, and has the following children: James, Ephraim, Lewis, John, Robert, Martha A., Arizona, Russell, and George S., all living, and Nancy J., Kasey and Frank, deceased." Ron
