Hello, I am searching for the above subject , whom I beleive is my maternal grt. grandfather. The above William Pryor and one Frank Pryor age 24 were mentioned in a history of Washington Co. OH , 1800's. The article stated the two Pryor's volunterred for three years in Civil War, 1862, Warren Twp. Washington Co OH. If this was my William he was in Iowa , Polk Co by 1870. I have a lot of info on my William after he reached Iowa, but nothing on him or his family before 1870. My William married my grt grandmother Anna Elizabeth Walllace 1877 Jasper Co. MO. I know he was married prior to his marriage to Anna Elizabeth. I have a William Pryor who fits the above OH William on the 1870 Camp Twp. , Polk Co. Iowa Fed . Ce , listed with a wife Margaret bo OH and a son Frank E. age 11 bo Ohio.I am reasonably sure after hunting for 20 years that these Williams are one and the same and could be my grandfather. The 1870 Iowa Wm was living right next door to a Mell family that I found later to be closely related to my William Pryor. I lost track of Margaret and Frank after the 1870 ce. I found my Wm and Anna on the 1880 ce in Polk Iowa with a young son Lawrence bo MO and a 12 year old son Robert . Robert could not have been Annas because she was only 18 in 1877 when she married William. My Wallace family was in Camp Twp. Polk Iowa by 1840 from the east. They moved to Jasper MO shortly before Anna married William. All records state William was bo OH during the 1830's . There is age variation in his ce records etc.. I beleive he lied because of theextreme age difference between him and Anna. One daughter of Wm and Anna , name Maudien was bo 1885 in Jasper MO. Her birth record states father , William H. Pryor was bo OH. This is the only time I have found the initial H.. I would greatly appreciate any and all help regarding my William Pryor. I will gladly exchange any info I have regarding my William etc.. I do not know how to proceed or secure other information regarding the info I found in the OH. HHistory. Please forgive, I neglected to mention Wm 26 and Frank 24 vol. in 92nd Regt. C.War , 3yr's. My sincere Thanks, Barbara Meives, Missouri.
