LUCETTA BISHOP (SPRAGUE) MASON Daughter of William Mason and Luna Sprague. Lucetta was born Nov. 4, 1827, and died May 9, 1921. On May 25, 1852 she married William Bion Mason. This picture was taken when she was 80 yrs. old. (about the year of 1893), at the home that William Bion built at 622 Third St., Marietta, Ohio. Note the "round" porch. This house is located beside Sacra Via Park, and is still as "beautiful" in 2003, as it was in 1893. Died in Marietta, Ohio on Feb. 17, 1929. Mary Eliza graduated from Marietta High School in 1874, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Colonial Dames, Daughters of the American Revolution, Pioneer Society, and Centennial Society, and active in all these organizations. She was greatly interested in genealogical research and gathered considerable data on the Mason family by traveling in the East, also at Washington, and through correspondence. After her death, her book, "Genealogy and History THE FAMILY OF HUGH MASON - WILLIAM MASON and Allied Families" was published in book form and placed in several libraries and historical societies.
