Does anyone use FAMILY TREE MAKER as their genealogy webpage?? I have been having nightmares with mine for the last couple of weeks. Below is the email that I sent them in regards to my problem uploading files and updating my book, with lots of new info that I have entered into my data base. I am posting this to the LIST just in case anyone else has the same problems I am having. This email is in no way complaining about a genealogy online site, but hoping it will help someone understand IF they are having problems with their site or another site they are trying to access, and If anyone gets the error message that the page has been deleted or moved, you might want to try the site again in a day or two. Any way.....here is the email I sent them. Email I sent to GENEALOGY.COM Home Page Troubleshooting: I have tried several (about 5 times)to update my "BOOK" to my home page. The additional info that I have added and saved is not in the book. Also, the same day, when I added a file to my homepage, it is there, but when I link to it,,I get a message saying that it was moved or deleted. I have put the "EXACT" link to get to it. I have checked and rechecked for any typing errors, but there is none. I have only used 14.592 MB out of the 22 MB that the site allows. I had this problem before with genealogy.com, but after about 2 weeks, it finally updated itself. WHAT IS WRONG!!!! I don't think it is anything that I am doing wrong. I think the problem is on your end. I have "ALOT" more data that I just added and I need to get it updated in my book. HELP!!! You might want to try it your self. If you go to my homepage, and click on my latest file titled "The Family of William Bond Mason (Church History), it will take you to the page, BUT........ If you type the address into your brower you get the error message. It says the update will be available within 15 minutes or that the item is currently being formatted, but the homepage never updates. Answer Our server engineers are aware of this problem, and are researching the cause. The issue has turned out to be more complex than originally anticipated, and this has resulted in delays in finding a resolution. The "Update or Edit My Homepage" option in the Publishing Center only updates the "My Family History" section of the homepage. You will note that if you click on the "Edit Your Page" link on your homepage, you will have other upload options such as reports and books. These should give you an alternate method of making your information available on your page.
