In researching 1800s census & voter records for my BRIGGS ancestors, I have come upon Union Township. Where was that area & what became of it? Thank you, Mark Moeser
Union Township was formed in 1812, but over time, parts of it had been annexed out to other townships. Most of it went to Watertown, and smaller parts were annexed to Adams and Muskingum townships. It had grown so small that in Dec. of 1877 it had lost it's identity.
