Hi Shelby, I'm in Columbus Ohio because my sister is in MICU. I don't have my RAWSON book with me so can't look it up. I typed the wrong date however! It is 1636. The book was compiled by two ladies from Belpre, so I imagine there is a connection. The book is 'DAVID RAWSON, ANCESTORS AND DESCENDANTS 1636-1972" You might be able to find a copy. I'll get back to you when I get back to VA. I know my great grandmother was Maggie Rawson, probably born in Wood or Wirt County, WVa (Virginia at that time) on Oct. 4, 1851. She married A. Manderville Coe and they lived in Rockland (now part of Belpre), Ohio. She died July 24, 1903. Their daughter, Alice Coe Wilcoxen, was my grandmother. The Coes and related families (Morehead, Jett and Owens) came from the Palestine area of Wirt County. I've found some Rawsons in WVa census records, but haven't been able to connect them with Maggie. Any clues? Hi, I haven't forgotten you. Just started looking for Maggie Rawson. So far I have a Margaret b. Nov. 20, 1865 d. Apr. 16, 1866. This is in the descendants of Lewis Rawson. There are several branches and that is how the book is indexed. I will go through each one. I have seen the COE surname in the index and will see what that turns up. BTW, the authors - researchers - Geraldine Sommerville and Oma H. Mills. According to the book, Oma Hendricks Mills was d. of Henry Hilbert and Cora Elizabeth RAWSON Mills. She lived with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Thomas RAWSON until school age. After her marriage to Clark Mills, they resided at Elizabeth, WV. (m. 09-12-1930). They both graduated from Wirt County High School, Elizabeth, WV. " This would lead me to believe that your Maggie is related. Clark was sheriff of Wirt County and Oma was a teacher and has many orginizations listed. They moved to Belpr in 1953. Linda in Virginia
