Letter published in the Jan 15, 1919 REPUBLICAN JOURNAL Fienma, Hungary December 5, 1918 Dear Mother - I will write you a few lines to let you know that John and I are well and hope this finds you all the same. I just received four letters from home. One from you, one from Faye and two from Martha dated November 5th, and was surely glad to hear from home. We are living in town now. We were out on a hike this morning and the roads were dusty and the weather here is about like it is back there in October. The people here say that it doesn't get very cold here. They say that the flowers begin to bloom in January. Knoxie and Roy are both well. Roy, John and I are all sleeping in the same room. We expect to be home some of these days. I am sending you some cards, pictures of a couple of towns where I have been. Tell father to take good care of himself and that I hope to be on my way home by the time this letter reaches you. Well, do not worry about us. We have a warm place to stay and plenty to eat and we can buy anything that we want to eat, such as cake and pie, chocolate and all kinds of stuff like that but it is awful high. Well, I will close for this time. With love and best wishes Your son, Pvt. Charles E. BEYMER Co. L. 332 Inft., A.P.O. No. 901 American E.F., Italy.
