    3. Thanks, Debbie, I have taken your advice and sent a request to him and maybe he can help or if not, make a different suggestion. I was surprised that GEORGE GEPHART was not found in the historical newspaper section as he was at one time Superintendent of Streets and his brother, Jacob Gephart had a very lengthy obituary when he died in 1928. Thanks for your response as I truly appreciate it. I did a search for George in the historical newspaper section and did not find an obit for him. But if you were to email Ernie Thode, who it the head of the Wash. Co. Historical and Genealogy Library, maybe he could get someone to look it up on microfilm. 3. Helen; I appoligize that I didn't clarify that the historical newspaper section that I was talking about was on ancestry.com Marietta Times is not part of the ancestry.com historical newspaper section. However many death notices and obituaries do make other newspapers in Ohio and other states. Take for instance, Cambridge, Lancaster, and Zanesville, Ohio historical newspapers on ancestry.com do carry a few from the Washington County, Ohio area. Zanesville newspapers do have alot of people mentioned from around the Lowell and Beverly area, since those places are closer to Zanesville (Muskingum Co.) area. I have transcribed a few of them. You can find the ones I have transcribed on the "LINKS" site under the Death Notices section on page 3. Maybe someone who subscribes to this List, and lives in the Marietta area can do a look-up for you in the microfilm at the Genealogy Library. I don't live in Marietta any more, or I would be more than happy to help you in anyway I can. I can tell you from my experience, that the subscribers to this List is one of the most friendy and helpful people, who help each other with their "brick walls". It seems that someone ALWAYS comes through for me, depending on what resourses each subscriber has. I will keep checking to see what I can find out for you online. If I find anything, I'll email you with the results. One other suggestion is to put your query on the GEPHART mailing list. Maybe someone who is researching the same family member, may have his obit. You might also want to try to email the Marietta Times about the obit.
