    3. Debbie: In the old newspaper obituaries, have you run across a Joseph Chapman, died September 12, 1906 in Washington County? I have all the probate papers, but I need family info. I believe he lived in what was at one time called Independence Township (Wade post office?). I've been trying desperately to locate documentation to tie him to a Brooke County Chapman family, but so far have only 'circumstantial' evidence. Long distance research (from California) is frustrating. Thanks for any assistance. Pat Pulasky

    3. Pat; I couldn't find anything on Joseph Chapman. Have you tried to email Ernie Thode at the Washington Co., Ohio Historical and Genealogy Library? Someone there may be able to look on the newspaper micro film for the week of September 12, 1906 and come up with a death notice and/or an obit.
