Just got this message on another mailing list about National Archives. NHP is proud to announce the release of Order Online, NARA's web-based capability that allows researchers to submit requests for copies of Fixed Fee pension application files, Complete Military Pension Application Files and Pension Documents Pockets. Order Online can be accessed through the Research Room at www.archives.gov. Future releases of Order Online will feature the remaining Fixed Fee Orders and the ordering of microfilm publications and NARA merchandise. Pam

Just a comment from someone who has already used this... the response time is *much* faster than when ordering copies through the mail. I recently ordered three complete Civil War pension files and received them in less than two weeks. It used to take over three months! It might not be as fast for everyone but something has obviously changed.
