Beverly Dispatch February 4, 1919 Sad Death of Mrs Virgil Rowlands Extremely sad was the death of Mrs. Virgil Rowlands, which occurred at her home in the Dodge Addition, on Tuesday, February 4th. A little son had been born to her last week, at which time Mrs. Rowlands was suffering with influenza, and complications set in which caused her death. A husband and six little children are left to mourn her untimely death. The whole family had been stricken with influenza, and were all ill at one time, but fortunately they had good care , and with the exception of the wife and mother, will recover. Lulu Caro Rowlands was the daughter of Elijah and the late Viola Newton and was 33 years and 21 days of age at the time of her death. On October 23, 1907, she was united in marriage with Virgil L. Rowlans, and six children were born to this union. They are Cariol Day, Josephine Louise, Mary Lucille, Junius Loren, Francis Paul and the little son born last week. Beside the husband and children, her father, six brothers and two sisters survive. Services will be held Thursday, February 6, in charge of Rev. Hunter, and her remains will be laid to rest in beautiful Beverly Cemetery. Mrs Rowlands was a faithful member of the Beverly Methodist Episcopal Church. Linda LRHall175@aol.com
