May 2, 1919 Death of Martin Reed After a short illness of pneumonia, Mr. Martin Reed passed away at his home, Waterford Route, on Sunday morning, April 27 at 11:00 About a year ago Mr. Reed was operated upon at Marietta Hospital and while the physicians could do little for him, yet he was able to be around and was seen on the streets but a short time ago. He was born in Noble County, Ohio February 17, 1858, and was the son of Isaac and Catherine Reed, and was 61 years, 2 months and 10 days of age at the time of his death. September 5. 1883, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Allison, and to this union were born six children. Charles Berton, Francis Roscoe, Atlee Delmer, Hazel Mae, Mable Marelle and Bernice Rita, two of whom, Francis and Mabel died in childhood He is survived by his wife, four children. Three brothers, George Ben and Charlie. Mr. Reed was a public spirited citizen and always had the welfare of the community at heart. He serviced two terms at Township Trustee. Thirteen years ago he united with the Beverly Christian Church, and has been a consistent member of that church. Services were held at the home on Tuesday, and interment was made in the Salem Cemetery. Sympathy is extended the bereaved family in their sorrow, by their many friends and neighbors.
