Hey Everyone.... Just wanted to let you all know that I'm getting back into the swing of things. Geee....sure has been a longggggggggggggggggggg 2 months. Things are starting to return to normal because I'm keeping myself busy doing all sorts of things, not to mention the kids are always keeping me on the go. One of the neat things that happened while I was in Marietta, I went to visit Henry Burke. I always make sure I visit him when I'm in town. While I was there, he and his wife Annie, loaded my van with all kinds of "goodies" that Millie Covey Frye donated to the cause of helping others with the history of Washington County, Ohio. I was sooooooooooo happy to bring them back home. The van was cramped, but I was not about to leave Marietta without the goodies. lol I actually had to go out and buy another large bookshelf for all the books, newsletters, databases, etc... that she had left for me. I felt like a little kid on Christmas Day when I seen it all. I was so happy. The list of things that Millie gave me would be too long to go into detail with right now, but at the end of this email, I have listed just a few of the MANY "goodies" she left for me at Henry's house. Anyway..........Now that I'm back....I've been sorting though emails, some of which I have not had a chance to reply to yet, but I will soon. I also have several files ready to send to Ernie for him to upload on the Washington County Chapter of Ohio Genealogy Society (WCCOGS) website. Before I left, he did put some of it up. http://www.washogs.org/ The Marietta, Ohio MySpace has also been updated. http://www.myspace.com/historicalmariettaohio Several new things have been added, such as the history of McClure-Shafer-Lankford Funeral Home (1892-present); info about travel and tourism; book: Escape of Jane; Biography of Claude Davis; "lots" more photos, and this one photo (and info) of JOHN WESLEY BOWERS, of the 77th OVI, plus some military info on his brothers. You don't have to be a member of MySpace to view anything on the site. I have the privacy settings set to "public". The only things that you can't see if your not a friend of the Marietta, Ohio MySpace are the bulletins that I put out, and just a couple of other things, such as in the mood section of the site, I add some "facts" about Marietta. If you don't know much about navigating around MySpace, some of the new things are posted in the BLOG section on the right hand side of the page. Under the profile pic there is a link that you can click on View Pics/Videos. Click on Pics and it will bring up all the various photo albums that I have online so far. Then all you have to do is click on the Album of your choice and it will bring up all the pics in the album.
