She was born April 7, 1932, in Fleming, Ohio the daughter of Cecil H. and Lucille Striblin Barnett. She married Glenwood R. Tate on March 10, 1953, and was Methodist by faith. She was a registered nurse with Good Samaritan Hospital, retiring in 2007, following many years of service. In addition to her husband of over 57 years, Irma is survived by one daughter, Sherry Corral; two sons, Terry (Judy) Tate of Milpitas, Calif., and Kendall (Cheryl) Tate of Nashport; eight grandchildren, Terry Tate Jr., Wil May, Toby Tate, Trevor Tate, Jason Corrall, Alyssa Tate, Erin Weatherspoon and Joshua Weatherspoon; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise (Robert) Kennedy of Zanesville, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 9, 2008 at The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave.,Zanesville, Ohio and one hour prior to service time at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at Grace Wesleyan Methodist Church, 505 Pine St., with Pastor Paul Wallace officiating.
