    3. Just a note to let everyone know that Hometown AOL is discontinuing their websites and will no longer be available as of November 1, 2008. Eliz Hanebury sent the List an email about this a few days ago. (Thanks Eliz) This is the place that I use for the LINKS site and the photos of old PEOPLE, PLACES & HEADSTONES of Washington County, Ohio. Starting today, I am working to save everything that I can on these pages, by backing things up on CD's. One thing for sure is that I have my work cut out for me. That's ok because it will keep my mind busy because of the sudden death of my brother, we still don't know much. All the work that I ever did as far as transcriptions is safe for now because I have them stored on my family tree maker site. I'm asking that if you ever submitted anything to me to put online for historical and genealogy purposes to please go to the site and retrieve it by saving it to your computer. There is several genealogy sites where you can donate your work. And there is one GREAT fairly new website out there that you can submit your things to. This site "guarantees" that whatever you submit, "you will still own the copyright" and it is dedicated to keeping genealogy FREE. Below is the link to the Washington County, Ohio Genealogy Trails History Group. http://genealogytrails.com/ohio/washington/ After I get things backed up, I will submit some (not all) of my personal transcriptions to them. My friend, Henry Burke is also allowing me to use his site for some of my work. I'm also going to call Ernie Thode and ask him what space is avalible on the WCCOGS website for my transcriptions. If there is space avalible there, he will be the one who decides what is put online there. (That is......"IF" there is space available) But never fear! Sometime in the future, this LINKS site will be back up and running. Only on a different server. It will just take time for me to do research on my options about which ones to use and which ones are the best as far as space and cost. Thanks..... 3. Glad you are back, the idea of you not being able to get the material back terrified me. Can you get some rootsweb freepages? That way the material would be on a site you own?
