Of course we all know we're at the mercy of the enumerators! The last name could have been Schaffer, Shaffer , Shafer, et al. I'm attempting to find the marriage record of my g-grandparents. His name was Benjamin F. Stephens of W.V and her's was Caroline Schaffer (et al) I'm guessing they married @1885 /-, in Washington Co. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
