He was born on Monday, July 1, 1935, in Washington County, Ohio the son of Charles Edward and Lola Louise Singer Holbert. He was a self employed lawn and home maintenance man who enjoyed working on old cars and tractors. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his children, including Charles Curtis, Nadine Singer, Glen Singer, Phillip Singer, Nicole Singer and Chelsea Singer, Brenda Curtis, Hattie Curtis, and Carole Harris; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; two sisters, Maxine (Ralph "Beanie") Caliman of Zanesville, and Gladys (James) Kennedy of Camp Springs, Md. He was preceded in death by his parents. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at the Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave.Zanesville, Ohio Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at Apostolic Christian Church with Elder Nathan McDonald officiating. A brief prayer service will also be held at 1 p.m. at the Cutler Mission Church in Cutler, Ohio, with Pastor Delbert Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt.
