I'm hoping someone on the list can point me in the right direction to find either the death record or the burial site for Thomas H WALLACE. His last known address in 1897 was Mead, Belmont County, OH. His last physician of record was Dr. J.S. Smith of McMechan, Marshall County, WV. He married Mary E Roseberry in Marietta. Thomas was a Civil War veteran with the 77th OVI, Co. E. He died on January 23, 1897 from disease of the heart and rheumatism contracted during his service duty. I have tried to find his death record and burial record in both Ohio and West Virginia, and have had no luck. His widow filed for her widow's pension in McMechan, WV in March of 1997, and consequently moved to Galesburg, IL, where her son Harry E Wallace was living. Does anyone have any idea where I might look next for Thomas H WALLACE's death and burial records? As a Civil War veteran, I'm hoping there exists some record of veterans of that war that I don't yet know about. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
