Brown received a telegram Tuesday evening stating that his father, Captain David T. Brown of Beverly, died from apoplexy Tuesday afternoon at four o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. A. (Eva) Moore of Dubois, Pa. Mr. Brown had been in Dubois a week, having passed through Zanesville on his way there. He was quite well until he sustained the stroke of apoplexy Tuesday when death followed almost immediately. Captain Brown was highly respected and esteemed throughout the Muskingum valley where he was well-known being a retired river man. He formerly lived in Zanesville but has made his home in Beverly for many years. A wife and three children survive: the children are: Lewis K. Brown, Mrs. H. A. Moore of Dubois, Pa., and Mrs. Theodore G. (Alice) Davis of Bridgeton, N. J. Mr. L. K. Brown left Wednesday morning for Beverly to inform his mother of the sad news. The remains will arrive in Beverly Thursday morning and the funeral will be held Friday morning at ten o'clock.
