    1. [OHWashin] Sheppard in Washington Co.

    3. I have been trying to track a Sheppard/Shepherd line that came from Ireland about 1810/1820 to Carroll Co. and  maybe  Washington Co. I have a Margaret Shepperd who married Weir in MD about 1813 and her brothers Peter and  John.  Margaret was in Carroll Co. and moved to Jefferson Co. about 1820, Peter died in MD  and I think John went to Washington Co. but I have nothing else on him. Anyone else have anything on this line. John Date: Mon, 29 Nov 2010 06:16:46 -0800 From: "terry Welden" <terry@weldenart.com> Subject: Re: [OHWashin] THE HISTORY OF ST. LUKE'S Debbie To: <ohwashin@rootsweb.com> Elizabeth Sheppard Creel was my GGGGrandmother.  I have extensive information on her and her family.  She actually begins a Sheppard line in this country that starts in the 1820's.  As far as I can tell she is not related to any Shepards that lived here previously. I am very interested in and information on Dr. David Creel, whom I believe is the same David Creel that was the Jury Forman at the Aaron Burr Treason trial.  I can't actually prove that, though. I would be happy to provide you with any information that I have. LUKE'S Debbie I was hunting one of my Lords (nearly anyone named Abner Lord (whatever)in this case Guitteau) and found this, I am thinking that she really is Sarah Wright Shepard Ransom Davis born (on her tombstone 8 Mar 1789 London England, married I have been told in Marietta (someone had her marriage to Jacob Shepard) the dates are so very similar. Does anyone have Mrs Sheppard Creel? Excerpts From: THE HISTORY OF ST. LUKE'S CHURCH, MARIETTA, OHIO By. Wilson WATERS, M. A. - With Illustrations by: Harry EGGLESTON Printed for the Author by J. Mueller & Son, Marietta, Ohio 1884 (pg. 244)     Mrs. SHEPPARD, who married Dr. CREEL of Parkersburg was born in London, England, in 1791, and came to Marietta in 1835, having been in this country about ten years. She was a great reader and an artist and fine taste and exquisite skill in music. She was in every way a lady of the highest culture. She died in Marietta, November 8, 1878.     Her son, Mr. C. J. SHEPPARD, was appointed by Bishop MEADE, as lay-reader in Wellsburg and St. John's Va., where his (Mr. S's) wife's family was among the prominent Church families. Her father built the church there. Mrs. SHEPPARD?S daughter Julie amrried Mr. R. M. STIMPSON. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To contact the OHWASHIN list administrator, send an email to OHWASHIN-admin@rootsweb.com.
