>I hope that someone can give me some advice. I have hit a brick wall. I am trying to find the graves and death dates of George Seibert, and his wife Catherine (Sipple) Seibert. The only record I can find of them is the 1880 Census, Marietta, Washington, Ohio... >I am willing to drive down to Marietta and search records. Where should I go? Pam, The best place to check is the History and Genealogy Library 418 Washington St. Marietta, Ohio 45750 Phone: 740-376-2172 Fax: 740-376-2175 Ernie Thode, Branch Manager Email: genealogy@wcplib.lib.oh.us Hours of Operation Monday-Tuesday 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday Closed Thursday 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday Closed --- Also, I think you'll want to start your search in Warren Township. I found this in Williams' History of Washington County: "George Seibert was born in Braden, Germany, January 3, 1822. He emigrated to America, and settled in Pennsylvania, where he remained until 1874, when he settled in Warren Township, Washington county, Ohio." It also states that his first wife was Elizabeth Kaylor, with whom he had five boys. He married a second time in October 1867, but the second wife's name isn't mentioned. This marriage produced three more boys and four girls. He worked as a machinist for 35 years then switched to farming in 1874 after the move to Warren Township. Happy Hunting, Pam in Kenucky
