I already have a lot of information for him when he located in Fayette County, Pa. Everything that I can find, says that he was born on a ship coming from Ireland. Unable to find shipping records in the 1757 era. Then I find the article below that says he was an emigrant from England and settled in Norfolk, Va. Would you have any information on him [assuming that this is the correct person]? He was well educated in the public schools, and learned the carpenter's trade. After working several years as a journeyman he became a contractor at Haddenville, Belle Vernon , and finally Uniontown , being engaged in building operations in the latter city for many years. He was a man of expert mechanical ability and upright character. In his contracting he was scrupulously exact in following the terms of all contracts and was thoroughly reliable in all things. He was an efficient, capable business manager and prospered. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and a supporter of the Democratic party. He married Jennie Colley , born February 7, 1855 , at Haddenville, Fayette county , where she now (1912 ) resides. She is a daughter of Peter (2) Colley , a farmer of Fayette county , son of Abel Colley , son of Peter! (1) Colley , the emigrant from England , who went to Norfolk, Virginia , where he settled.
