She lists the father on her two daughters' birth certificates as "Harry Cherry", but we can't find any record of their marriage. Knowing what I know about Maggie, it is likely she didn't get married and may have even made up the father's name. In both cases, the mother is the one giving the information for the birth record. There is a Harry Cherry in Marietta and he is the right age, but he was married to someone else. That doesn't eliminate him as being the father, but it was unlikely that they were married. It is something of a family mystery. Maggie married off her daughters early. My great-grandmother (Maggie's second daughter, Hallie Davis) was married to my great-grandfather in WV when she was 13 and he was 45. I am still looking for Maggie at home in the 1900 census.
